About Max

Max is an Associate Director based in the Boston office and a member of the “Chemicals” and “Strategy & Organization” Practices. His main areas of expertise cover strategy development and implementation, new business model definition and implementation, and technology innovation management, as well as sustainability strategy and management for the chemicals and materials industries. He has deep operational experience in the industrial biotechnology and biomaterial sectors.

Prior to rejoining Arthur D. Little, Max spent six years at Metabolix, Inc., a leading industrial biotechnology firm focused on the development and production of bio-based, biodegradable polymers (PHAs), where he was responsible for strategy and commercial development. This experience gave him a pragmatic perspective on strategy and business model development and implementation, as well as real-life experience in technology/innovation development and launch. Before joining Metabolix, he spent 15 years in management consulting at Charles River Associates and Arthur D. Little, where he focused mainly on strategic, technology and M&A issues related to the Chemicals industry. Max started his career as a process and project engineer at Raytheon Engineers and Constructors (RE&C) and Cellier (ABB) in the Chemicals and Paper industries.

Max holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Massachusetts, and a Bachelor of Sciences in Mechanical Engineering from Laval University in Canada. He is fluent in English and French. He is an avid skier and runner.
