About Richard

Richard is a Managing Partner at Arthur D. Little, based in our Cambridge office in the United Kingdom, leading globally our Risk Practice.

Since joining Arthur D. Little in 1989, Richard has worked internationally across the transport, process and construction sectors, developing corporate-safety risk management programs and leading independent reviews of safety arrangements at board, business-unit and operational levels.

Assignments have extended through Asia, Africa, Europe and the Americas. Recent projects include development of a group-wide “Safety Around Beverages” program for the Group CEO of a FTSE 5 company and validating safety of a new Middle East transport start-up.

Richard is a highly experienced trainer, having delivered many learning programs to executives and senior managers across the UK, Africa, North America and Hong Kong.

Richard has extensive executive management experience, having been variously Managing Director of Arthur D. Little UK, Global Leader of Sustainability and Risk and Global CEO of Arthur D. Little (2003-6).

Away from work, Richard is an accomplished church organist and a frequent visitor to his second home, Cape Town – both for vacation and support to a couple of township projects.
