About Stephen

Stephen is a Partner at Arthur D. Little, based in our London office, leading our global energy competence center on Upstream Oil and Gas, Exploration, Development and Production.

Stephen brings more than 36 years of experience in global Upstream Oil & Gas, 23 years with BP, Hess and TXU/EON in various Upstream Oil and Gas technical and commercial/ economic roles, including as geologist, economist and regional asset manager.  These roles included P&L accountability for major North Sea gas fields. 

Since 2003, Stephen has been leading our global upstream oil & gas team, advising clients worldwide on a variety of strategic, technical, economic/ commercial and operational issues, having been involved in a wide range of oil and gas technology and strategy development issues. 

He is often asked to act as an expert on Arbitration and Litigation matters across a wide range of technical and commercial aspects of the oil and gas industry.

He is widely known for his specialist experience in strategy, planning and due diligence valuation of upstream, midstream and downstream Oil & Gas assets and Oil Field Services operations.  He has close understanding of the issues involved in assessing oil and gas exploration, appraisal and development acreage, and of the techniques used to define prospectivity and to value exploration acreage and development assets.
