SBB’s new procurement

The SBB, Switzerland’s biggest travel and transport company, spends 3.5 billion Swiss Franc on material purchase. Too much, said CEO Andreas Meyer who launched a reform program to unlock saving potentials in 2007. In 2009 the issues had already been reduced about 150 million franc and until 2011, further measures are supposed to occur. Today, the SBB's procurement directly connects the perspective of the engineers with the control of the costs. That is at least the judgment of Bernd Schreiber, Managing Director at Arthur D. Little Switzerland.
